The law currently in force in Spain establishes the use of electronic services for Public Administrations. This gives high importance to identification and electronic signature in all public activities and contributes to define their use and legal value.

Certification services are a key element in every process of the Digital Transformation. The FEMP (Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces) decided to define, explain and document all aspects of this topic. For this reason, it published the Encyclopedia of Certification Services for Local Administrations, a document to clarify every concept concerning electronic certificates, digital signature, PKI systems.

This publication is a guideline book to understand and respect principles such as authentication, integrity, confidentiality and non-repudiation in the communications occurring through open networks: it’s an important document that will support the Digital Transformation process in Spanish Public Administration.

Uanataca, Bit4id Trust Service Provider, collaborated with the FEMP to realize the Encyclopedia and will attend the presentation ceremony in Madrid on December, 14.
