On October 12, the Ministry of Economy of Guatemala announced the accreditation of the company Transacciones y Transferencias S.A (TyT) as Trust Service Provider based on Uanataca’s Public Key Infrastructure.

In April 2018 Uanataca, Bit4id Trust Service Provider, started a project in Guatemala to implement a PKI as a service for the company TyT, 5B operator (5B is the biggest ATM network in Guatemala). The aim was to implement advanced electronic signature in the Guatemalan banking system to speed up financial processes and make banking information legally secure.

The project included the study and the implementation of all the certification services for 5B, the strategy for its penetration in the banking market and the emission of the policies and the procedures for its accreditation as TSP in the country. The organization called Registro de Prestadores de Servicios de Certificación (electronic signature supervisor in Guatemala) visited Uanataca in Barcelona to review Uanataca PKI and to oversee the entire key ceremony.
