The Committee ISO/TC 307 unanimously approved the appointment of Paolo Campegiani as Project Leader of the Technical Report titled “Overview of existing DLT systems for identity management”, within the JWG4 (Joint Committee ISO/TC 307 – ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 27: Blockchain and distributed ledger technologies and IT Security techniques).

The Committee ISO/TC 307 works on the standardization of blockchain technologies and distributed ledger technologies. It is composed by different countries, forty three participating members and thirteen observing members; Italy participates in the committee through the National Standardization Committee UNINFO.

Paolo Campegiani, member of UNINFO/UNI CT 532, stated:
“Digital identity is an essential aspect for distributed ledger technologies, because it allows to certify the information they contain associating it with specific features such as stability, reliability and integrity, supporting the encoding of data stored in the system. In a context where the main governments define blockchain strategies, considered as a major element in the international competition, Europe and Italy can play an important role thanks to the high level of competence developed”.
